“A SEASON FOR NONVIOLENCE”

January 30th - April 4th

The Season for Nonviolence begins on January 30, 2026. Season for Nonviolence was established by Arun Gandhi, Mohandas Gandhi's grandson, as a yearly event celebrating the philosophies and lives of Mohandas Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. The "season" begins with the anniversary of Mohandas Gandhi's assassination on January 30 and ends with the anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassination on April 4. It is anchored by a mission statement of principles and commitments by participants toward living in a nonviolent way. This international event honors their vision for an empowered, nonviolent world.

Observing the daily affirmations practice is a powerful way to heal, transform, and empower our lives and our communities. All who are called forth in Spirit to live the principles of nonviolence in themselves, their daily lives, their community, and in the world, are invited to dedicate these 64 days to universal spiritual practices for peace and nonviolence.

THE WORK OF BECOMING: AWAKENING BEYOND THE SELF-IMAGE WORKSHOP

DATE: Tuesday, March 17th

TIME: 7:00 - 8:30 pm EST (PLEASE NOTE THE START TIMES: 7:00 PM - EST; 5:00 PM - MT)

FACILITATOR: Rev. Dr. Robert Brezinski

LOCATION: via Zoom

COST: $20.00

Spiritual growth does not come from better answers.
It comes from learning how to dwell more honestly within the questions.

This 90-minute experiential workshop introduces participants to the practice of Meditative InquiryTM — a contemplative process designed to deepen self-awareness, dissolve inner resistance, and open access to inner guidance and clarity.

Rather than striving for improvement, participants will be gently guided toward presence. Rather than trying to become someone new, participants will be supported in uncovering what is already true.

This gathering will include:

·       Guided meditative inquiry

·       Reflective spiritual exploration

·       Gentle contemplative practice

·       Space for integration and personal insight

No prior experience required. Only willingness.

BOOK: The Spiritual Path of Aging by JoAnn Levitt

A New Paradigm of Enlightened Elderhood

We are all acquainted with the negative images and beliefs of Elderhood—those people who have entered the life stage of “Senior Citizenship.”  However, a new paradigm has been afloat for several decades now, promoting a new vision of Elderhood that encompasses a time of continued flourishing, learning, growth, creativity, and purposeful activity. This time of life is an opportunity to glean and harvest wisdom that has been gained from one’s life experience, as well as diving deeper and expanding further in one’s spirituality and connection to the Divine or Source, being consciously aware of drawing nearer to returning to Source. An Enlightened Elder is one who, while continuing to “do” in the world, comes primarily from a place of “Sacred Beingness.”  Elderhood is a time of savoring life with all of its richness, taking in the goodness of creation and of one’s remaining time on Earth.

In this class, we will claim our Enlightened Elderhood through a deeply meaningful and interactive process of harvesting our wisdom, identifying the ways in which the joys and challenges of aging can transform our ongoing spiritual evolution.

RADICAL ACCEPTANCE WORKSHOP

DATE: Tuesday, April 21st

TIME: 7:00 - 8:30 pm

FACILITATOR: Rev. Dr. Martha Creek

LOCATION: via Zoom

COST: $20.00

“Radical Acceptance does not mean liking everything—it means not fighting reality… (It) means accepting this moment as is”.

Our suffering comes from resisting “what is”. Resistance keeps us bound to fear and struggle. When we acknowledge what is present — our feelings, circumstances, and truths — allow our grief, uncertainty, and imperfection to exist without shame — we step into a clarity and freedom from which arises wisdom, compassion, and the ability to respond more skillfully and authentically to life. Life does not become perfect, but we can learn to stand fully present within it, open, grounded, and free to choose our next step.

“The boundary to what we can accept is the boundary of our freedom.”

“When Christ dwells in us in love, which is unity, we are able to understand the things that the saints have understood. Saint simply means an unusually wise and good man – all saints have been human beings just as we are, for God makes all people alike. The universe plays no favorites.”
